2. Boot Stitching & Upper Craftsmanship

Our sewing division operates 42 heavy-duty computer sewing machines staffed by workers with 8+ years of average experience. Here, precision-cut synthetic leathers, breathable mesh liners, and high-density comfort foam (3-15mm customizable thickness) are assembled into structurally reinforced boot uppers. In-line QC stations inspect every 50th pair in real-time.

In-Line QC Advantage: Every 50th pair undergoes real-time inspection at dedicated QC stations. Combined with infrared heat-set tunnels for consistent upper shaping, our first-pass acceptance rate exceeds 98% — directly reducing your return rates and after-sales costs.

3. Shaping, Lasting & Heat Molding

This is where boot uppers take their final ergonomic form. Stitched uppers are placed onto precision foot-shaped lasts and run through our high-temperature infrared shaping ovens at 130°C. The heat-setting process permanently bonds the upper to the out-sole while ensuring the boot retains its anatomically correct shape through years of use. Our dedicated shaping QC zone performs fit-checks on every size run before passing to assembly.

Why Lasting Matters: Properly lasted boots maintain their shape and ankle support for 3-5x longer than non-lasted alternatives. This step is often skipped by low-cost competitors who glue uppers directly to outsoles — resulting in boots that deform after just weeks of use.

4. Final Assembly & Pre-Shipment Inspection

Our two streamlined assembly lines bring all components together: frames/plates are precision-mounted and riveted to boots, wheels are fitted with pre-pressed bearings (ABEC-5 to ABEC-9), brake pads are installed, and closure systems (buckles, laces, Velcro) are secured. Every pair passes a final spin test, alignment check, and visual inspection before being packed into custom branded packaging.

In-House Testing Laboratory

Safety is non-negotiable. Our independent QC lab performs rigorous pre-testing on every prototype and production batch — ensuring maximum pass rates at official third-party labs and saving you thousands in certification costs.

Impact Test

Impact Strength Testing

Impact testing simulates sudden external forces during skating use to evaluate the strength and reliability of critical components, including boot shells, frames and chassis.

The evaluation focuses on:

  • Impact load resistance
  • Structural strength under stress
  • Crack, deformation and failure prevention
ASTM F1270EN 13843EN 13899EN 15638
Wheel Test

Wheel Durability Testing

Simulates long-term skating conditions through continuous rolling and friction cycles to evaluate PU wheel wear resistance, dimensional stability and performance consistency.

Evaluation focuses on:

  • Wheel wear resistance
  • Structural stability
  • Performance consistency
EN 13843EN 13899
Tensile Test

Upper Tensile Test

Evaluates the mechanical strength of boot uppers, stitching lines and bonded areas under tensile loads to identify potential failure risks during repeated skating movements and long-term use.

Key evaluation areas:

  • Upper material strength
  • Stitching and seam durability
  • Bonding reliability
  • Resistance to tearing and separation
EN 13843EN 13899EN 15638
Corrosion Test

Salt Spray Corrosion Test

48-hour salt spray chamber testing on all metal components — axles, bearings, buckles to outlets — to verify rust resistance and coating durability in humid or coastal markets.

ISO/R 9227ASTM B117
Flexibility Test

Cold Temperature Performance Test

Materials and components are subjected to repeated bending cycles under low-temperature conditions to assess flexibility retention and resistance to cracking or embrittlement.

First-Pass Rate Pre-Testing

98%+ First-Pass Rate

Our in-house pre-testing ensures maximum first-pass rates at official third-party labs like SGS and Bureau Veritas — saving clients $2,000–$5,000 per SKU in wasted re-testing fees.

FACTORY FAQ

Common Questions About Our Factory

Questions about our manufacturing capabilities, quality standards, and factory operations.

Ask a Question
Is Qolo an actual factory or a trading company?
Qolo is a direct manufacturer — not a trading company. We own and operate a 9,000m² integrated production facility in Dongguan, China, housing injection molding, sewing, lasting, assembly, and an in-house testing lab. All core manufacturing processes are performed in-house by our 150+ staff. You are welcome to schedule a video factory tour or on-site visit to verify our capabilities before placing an order.
What quality testing do you perform before shipment?
Every batch undergoes 5 categories of in-house pre-testing before third-party certification submission: 1) Impact resistance testing (drop-weight impact per ASTM F1270), 2) Wheel durability testing (100km continuous friction abrasion per ISO 22166), 3) Upper tensile strength testing (ISO 13934 tear resistance), 4) Salt spray corrosion testing (48-hour ISO/R 9227 anti-rust test), and 5) Cold flexibility testing (material flex at -10°C per ISO 17232). Our in-house pre-tests achieve a 98%+ first-pass rate at official third-party labs like SGS and Bureau Veritas.
What factory audits and certifications does Qolo hold?
Our facility maintains BSCI certification (amfori BSCI QIMA Audit 2024), ISO 9001 quality management system, and has successfully passed factory audits for Disney, Walmart, and K-mart. Our products are certified to CE EN 13843 (inline skates), CE EN 13899 (quad roller skates), CE EN 15638 (ice skates), CPSIA/CPSC (US consumer safety), and EN 71 (toy safety).
How many injection molding machines and molds do you have?
We operate 9 advanced injection molding machines (including Taiwan-made models with robotic arm extraction) with a combined daily output capacity of 1,500 pairs of shell components. Our 200+ proprietary mold library covers boot shells, chassis, buckles, and frames across inline, quad, and ice skate categories.
